Walter M. Hughes, 77, of Bensalem, died Sunday in the Frankford Hospital in Langhorne, PA. Born in Trenton and a former resident of Lawrenceville, he has resided in Bensalem for twenty years. Mr. Hughes was employed at the Philadelphia Park Race Track as a horseman with thirty years of service. He was a member of the Rodeo Cowboy's Association and won the title of Championship Bull Rider in 1956 in Chicago and was a member of the New Jersey Musicians Union. Son of the late Donald and Mary Hughes, he is survived by a son J.D. Hughes and his wife Karen, and a daughter Mary Perri and her husband Mark. Also surviving are two grandchildren Kristen Hughes and Renee Perri and a sister Dolores Quinn. The funeral will be held on Friday at 2 PM from Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Hamilton. Family and friends may call on Friday from 12 noon to 2 PM at the funeral home.
