Richard E. Turner, 74, of Lawrenceville, died Thursday at home, following a short battle with cancer. Born in Cape Town, South Africa, he had resided in Lawrenceville for thirty-three years. Richard retired in 2002 from GfK Market Measures (formerly Response Analysis Corporation) in Princeton as a research editor after twenty-two years of service. He also taught as an adjunct professor of English at Mercer County Community College and retired in 2010 after twenty years in the classroom. He received his B.A. and M.A. from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Richard was a member of the Miami University Alumni Association. He was a friend of Bill W’s for nearly thirty years, and maintained “The Grammar Curmudgeon” website. He will be remembered for his love of words and his love of music. Son of the late Robert W. Turner Sr. and Adaline Lippincott Turner, brother of the late Robert W. Turner Jr. and Patricia Turner Yerkes Toscano, he is survived by his beloved wife Grace Ellen Clark Turner, a daughter Katherine Amanda Studey and her husband David, of Phoenix, AZ, three grandsons Christopher, Jeremy, and Matthew Studey and several nieces and nephews. His memorial service will be celebrated on Wednesday June 29th at 1 PM at the Kingston United Methodist Church, Church Street, Kingston, NJ.
