Obituary of Samuel B. Lippincott

Samuel B. Lippincott, 91, of Lawrenceville died Thursday at the University Medical Center at Princeton. Born and raised in Neptune, NJ, he was a resident of Lawrenceville for 55 years. Mr. Lippincott worked in textiles and was a fabric developer for American Viscose for years and Vice-President of Bates Bedspreads. He was a pioneer in the development of fabrics such as rayon and polyester in clothing and carpeting. He retired at the age of 52. He was an avid golfer and played untold rounds at the Peddie School and Lawrence Prep School. He held numerous titles and championships over the years. Son of the late, Joseph and Helen (Devlin) Lippincott, and husband of the late, Kathleen (Quinn) Lippincott, he is survived by his two sons; Judd Lippincott and his wife Marion of Barnegat Light, and Todd Lippincott of Princeton, his six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A gathering of friends and family will be held on Tuesday at 10 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. Burial will be in the Lawrenceville Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday for 5 PM to 8 PM at the funeral home.
