Charles Pearson Meseroll, 86, of Lawrenceville died Thursday at home. Born in New Brunswick he was a resident of Lawrenceville since 1960. He was a graduate of St. Peter's Catholic High School in New Brunswick and served as an Altar Boy at St. Peter's Catholic Church. As a youth he also was a caddy at the Rutgers University Golf Course. Charles continued his education after high school and graduated from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa., Class of 1942. During World War II, Charles served as an airplane armorer with the U. S. Army Air Force and participated in the European air offensive in Normandy, N. France, Germany, Ardennes and Central Europe and was discharged in 1945 having earned the rank of Sergeant. Charles was employed as a District Accounting Manager with New Jersey Bell Telephone Company in Ewing Township and retired in 1985 after many years of service. He was a member of the Bucknell University Alumni Club; was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America; served as a volunteer at Pennsbury Manor in Falls Township, Pa; he was also a Docent at the New Jersey State Museum; a member of the Lawrenceville School Golf Club and was a singer with the Fathers Club at Notre Dame High School in Lawrence Township. Son of the late Charles A. and Helen Pearson Meseroll, father of the late Charles Robert Meseroll and brother of the late Helen Lenchuk, he is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marie Grabowski Meseroll; his children, Forrest Chilton and his wife Valerie, Dotti McLean and her husband Brian, Barbara Smith and her husband Robert, and Tom Meseroll and his wife Jill; eight grandchildren, Forrest V, Annemarie, Chris, Colin, Kathy, Michael, Melina and Trevor; four great-grandchildren, Tabitha, Annabel, Katherine and Torquil and a cousin, Ann Horan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM at the Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. Private family burial services will take place at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown. Friends may call on Monday from 6 to 8 PM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville.
