I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Ms. Fecak. She was my teacher in LHS. She was a good friend and mentor that meant very much to me. She helped me through many difficult times during my adolescence and I have always appreciated it. When I entered Rider College, my first essay was to write about an inspring person and I chose to write about her. Please except my deepest condolences and know that she is at peace.
I'll never forget what a great debate coach she was. I'm so glad she came back for the year we won the championship even though she had retired the year before. She and I almost never agreed on any political issue (occasionally we did), but we enjoyed bantering with each other. We always ended with a smile and oftentimes hugs. Ms. Fecak will be missed very much.
It was truly a special service today for a very special lady. We parents, who knew her as a quality educator and a friend and advocate for our children are forever grateful for Barbara's passion to change lives.
Barbara was a colleague of mine in the special education department at Lawrence High for my twelve years there. Quick to laugh, generous to a fault, and infinitely patient with students, she inspired other teachers without intimidating them, and will be sorely missed.

Barb was a rock for our department at LHS and she was there for me as I adjusted through the first years of my teaching career. I could go to her for advice, assistance, a good laugh, or a strong arm on my behalf. She will always be dear to me as she guided me through a very important time in my life.
