Fred Loveless Jr. 88, of Lawrenceville, died Tuesday at home He was born September 9, 1922 in Princeton. Fred graduated from Princeton High School in 1941. He lived in Princeton for thirty-one years before moving to Lawrenceville in 1953. He served his country as a Merchant Marine from 1943 until 1945. Fred retired from PSE & G as a working inspector after thirty-five years of service. Fred started his boxing career during the 1940’s as an amateur and after a few years turned professional for several years. Fred was a past Exalted Ruler of the Lawrence Elks B.P.O.E. #2412 and was currently a member of the Hamilton Elks Lodge # 2622. He was also a member of Lawrence Township American Legion Post #414. Fred found time to race homing pigeons, which he did for forty years. His pigeons won many races from 100 to 6oo miles. His family and friends will always remember him fondly. His wit, humor, and love of life will be missed. Son of the late Fred Loveless Sr. and Lillian French Loveless, husband of the late Eleanor Hart Loveless, and brother of the late Marjorie Tkacs, he is survived by his daughter Susan Gibbs of Lawrenceville, two sons Richard Loveless and his wife Jennifer of Kintnersville, PA., and Phillip Loveless and his wife Susan of Morrisville, PA.. Also surviving are six grandchildren Robin Garzoni, Jessica Gibbs, Matthew, Christine, Ian and Dylan Loveless, two sisters-in-law Doris Johnson and her husband Ernie and Jean Mellor and many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held on Saturday at 11 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville with Reverend Dawn Flippen, pastor of the Slackwood Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in the Princeton Cemetery. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 9 to 11 AM at the funeral home. American Legion services will be held at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Slackwood Presbyterian Church, 2020 Brunswick Pike, Lawrenceville, NJ08448
