Maryann Schopperth Gibilisco, 73, of Lawrenceville, an amazing woman, loving wife, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt, and loving friend, passed away peacefully on Monday in her home after a long battle with cancer. She will be remembered for her undying love for her surviving husband, Joseph Gibilisco, and her continuing love and gratefulness for her family. In addition to her loving husband, Joseph, she is survived by her mother, Violet Nuy Schopperth of Haledon, her four children, Cynthia Delhaie of Denver, CO, Gene Delhaie and his wife Barb of Littleton, CO, Cheryl Conte and her husband Ben of Fairhaven, MA, and Leslie Delhaie of Berwyn, PA, her stepson Gary Gibilisco and his wife Donna of Hamilton and her six grandchildren, Randy and Samantha Smersh, Vail and Stefan Rita, and Anton and Julian Conte. She is also survived by her two brothers and sisters-in-law, George and Shirley Schopperth of Haledon, and Larry and Joanne Schopperth of Kinnelon and her three nieces and their families and treasured in-laws. Maryann was predeceased by her father, George Schopperth. Maryann grew up in North Jersey, raised her children in Morrisville, PA, and worked for many years in the banking industry before retiring with her husband in Lawrenceville, NJ to travel and perform volunteer work for injured animals at the Mercer Wildlife Center in Titusville. She was content and felt blessed with a full life and by the love of her family. She was humble, giving, creative, enjoyed nature and animals, and the simple things in life. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Maryann, Mom, Grandma, we love you! Her funeral will be held on Friday at 11 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville with Fr. Daniel Houde, pastor of Church of the Incarnation-St. James, officiating. Entombment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery Mausoleum, Hamilton. Friends may call on Friday from 10 AM until time of service. Maryann had many charities special to her heart. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
