Obituary of John L. Westenburger

John L. Westenburger, 92, formerly of Lawrenceville, died Monday in Williamsburg, VA. Born in Trenton, he resided in Lawrenceville most of his life having moved to Virginia six years ago. Mr. Westenburger retired as a foreman with the Safety Department of Rohm & Hass in Bristol PA. Son of the late John and Frieda Nickold Westenburger, and husband of the late Charlotte “Lottie” Skworzec Westenburger, he is survived by two daughters Helen Marie Emmons, and Barbara Wilkes and her husband Robert. Also surviving are four grandsons John Alan Emmons, Robert Wilkes Jr., Ronald and Richard Wilkes, seven great grandchildren, a brother Warren Westenburger and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial in Williamsburg, VA., will be celebrated Wednesday, July 21, at St. Bede Catholic Church. Local funeral services will be held on Friday, July 23, at 1 PM at The Lawrence Road Presbyterian Church, 1039 Lawrence Road, with Reverend Nina Reeder, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Ewing Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials in John’s name be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 400 Morris Avenue, Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834-1365 or to The Lawrence Road Presbyterian Church, 1039, Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
