Harry J. Beers, 86, of Lawrenceville, died Friday at Capital Health System of Mercer in Trenton. Born in Charleston, SC, and raised in Harrison, NJ he resided in Lawrenceville for 47 years. Mr. Beers was an Army veteran of World War II and a Purple Heart recipient. He graduated from Seton Hall Prep School and attended Seton Hall College. Mr. Beers worked in insurance for 50 years with American Insurance Company in Newark, Bennett & Beers Insurance in Harrison and lastly with Adlerman & Click in Princeton. Mr. Beers was a member of the Elks B.P.O.E # 21 in Newark and a daily communicant of The Church of St. Ann. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM at the Church of St. Ann, 1257 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. Son of the late Harry and Bridget Cooper Beers and wife of the late Julia Skwirut Beers he is survived by his daughter Barbaranne Beers of Lawrenceville. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions in Harry�s memory be made to St. John�s Catholic Church, Soup Kitchen, 22 Mulberry St., Newark, NJ 07102-0822. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, Lawrenceville.
