Ethel V. Sorrentino, 85, of Lawrenceville, NJ passed away peacefully on April 29 in the loving presence of her family.
Born and raised in the Vailsburg section of Newark, NJ, Ethel lived most of her life in Lawrenceville, NJ. She was active in the USO during World War II and was a member of the Girl’s Friendly Society. She was employed at Prudential Insurance, Farmer’s Insurance and in the later years enjoyed her time working in the History Department of Princeton University.
Ethel was predeceased by her husband Joseph P. Sorrentino, parents Henry and Emma Beck, and her grandson Brendan R. Tuffy. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-laws, Jeanne and Robert Bushar, Mary and James Gatsch, Jennifer and Thomas Tuffy, her son, Joseph Sorrentino and her grandchildren, Jessica Bushar, Christopher Gatsch, Alison Sorrentino, Alexandra Sorrentino and Maura Tuffy.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Ethel devoted her life to family and friends. She had a peaceful caring nature and a great sense of humor. She was a lover of music, sports and animals.
A private burial service will be held at the Lawrenceville Cemetery. A Memorial Service followed by a reception to celebrate Ethel’s life will be held on Saturday, May 15 at 1 PM at Trinity Church 33 Mercer Street, Princeton.
