Joseph S. Kulak, 65, of Whiting, died Monday at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center in Hamilton with his family at his side. Born in Trenton, Joe was an area resident most of his life before moving to Whiting fifteen years ago. Joe worked with his family at Royal Cleaners for a number of years in Lawrenceville. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant from the U. S. Army Reserve. Joe worked a number of years as a band leader, playing the accordion and singing at weddings and other celebrations. He loved salt water fishing and crabbing and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Lacy Township Elks Club B.P.O.E. 2518. Son of the late Joseph W. and Henrietta Koza Kulak and husband of the late Frances Gallo Kulak, he is survived by two sons, Joseph N. Kulak and Aaron J. Kulak. Also surviving are three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Robert H. Kulak, Chester Kulak and his wife Eileen and Richard Kulak and his wife Virginia, and a sister and brother-in-law Gerry and Edward Mika. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers in Joe’s memory may be made to America’s Keswick, 601 Route 30, Whiting, NJ 08759 www.americaskeswick.org
