I was deeply saddened when hearing of Genes passing. I will always remember him with admiration and gratefulness. When I started in the paint shop at the university, he took me under his wing, was patient with me, and taught me the trade. Spending majority of my work time with Gene, we eventually shared many personal things with each other. I will always remember his stories of his life and his advice of the painting trade and of life. I will always appreciate his â??teachingsâ? and when thinking of him, will always have a smile on my face.
