Margaret L. Oudenne, of Lawrenceville, died Thursday at the St. Joseph Skilled Nursing Unit at Morris Hall. Born in Buffalo, New York, she was a graduate of Phillipsburg High School and Rider College. She resided in Trenton and later in Titusville for several years before moving to Lawrenceville where she and her husband lived for the last forty years. Prior to her marriage, she had worked for a firm on Wall Street, in Manhattan. Later, Margaret went to work for the State of New Jersey Department of Education as an executive secretary. Margaret was an avid reader and student of ancient and medieval history. She was an amateur artist and had several exhibits of her oil paintings at various galleries and libraries. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed designing and making her own suits and dresses. Margaret was a member of the Church of St. Ann, the Lawrence Arts Council, the Princeton Historical Society and the Princeton Chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons. Daughter of the late Gabriel and Julia Holdy Lewis, she is survived by her husband of fifty-six years William, their son Edward and his wife Michele, two granddaughters, Ashley and Danielle, two grandsons, Ryan and Michael who reside in Newtown, PA., and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday beginning at 10 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM at the Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. Interment will be in the Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA. Family and friends may call on Monday from 7 to 9 PM the funeral home.
