Obituary of Helen A. Murphy

Please share a memory of Helen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
We wish to acknowledge the passing of our beloved Mother, Helen A. Murphy, long-time Trenton resident and Lalor Elementary School teacher. Born Helen Agnes Bitz in 1913 in Cleveland, New York, she was the wife of Michael L. Murphy, now deceased, and is survived by three children: Mary Lou Huchet, and her husband Charles of New Hope, PA; Michael L. Murphy of Windsor, CA; and Karen “Kate” S. Murphy of Lawrenceville. In addition to her children, she leaves five grandchildren: Katy LeDoyen, William Franz, Shaune Burns-Pero, Dennis Burns, Isa Murphy, Susan Burkhardt and Nicole Huchet, as well as nine great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and loving friends. Always a teacher and lifelong learner, she leaves lessons for us all by her sense of humor, her optimism, and her resilience. Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass on Saturday February 13, at 2 PM, at The Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. Burial will be private and there will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute to their local libraries to honor Helen's love of reading and previous work as a librarian.
