Angelo J. Picarello, 90, died on Monday at his daughter’s home in Lawrenceville. Born in Trenton, he moved with his parents to Lawrenceville, where he later built his own home and raised his family in Eldridge Park. A Navy veteran of WWII, Mr. Picarello returned to a job with General Motors, Fisher Guide Division, in Ewing Township. He retired after 38 years, and remained a proud and loyal member of the United Auto Workers. He was a long time member of The Church of St. Ann, and participated in the Lawrence Township Senior Citizens Club #1. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and gardening, and often made his own wine from grapes and plums that he grew, raisins, or anything else that he could ferment. Son of the late Generoso and Annie (Gallo) Picarello, and husband of the late Rose C. (Paparella) Picarello he is survived by his children: MaryAnne Kennedy, Joseph Picarello and his wife Candice, Angela Dotson and her husband John, Rosalie Carl and her husband James, and Annette Trimble and her husband Steven, his thirteen grandchildren: Lawrence and James Kennedy, Jennifer Havens, Gregory, Emily and Erin Picarello, Kimberly Dotson, Lesley Maurer, James and Thomas Carl, and George, Victoria and Carol Trimble, and his six great grand children. Also surviving are his sister Susan Terranova, and his brother Pasquale Picarello and many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his son-in-law, Lawrence Kennedy, his sister Helen Quill, and his brothers; Frank, Nunzio, and Martin Picarello. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11AM at The Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hamilton. Friends may call on Saturday from 9 to 11 AM in the daily chapel of The Church of St. Ann. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648 or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
