Obituary of Frank Chic Schiavone

Frank P. ""Chic"" Schiavone, 85, of Lawrenceville died Monday at Abington Hospital, Abington, PA. Born in Princeton, Chic was a resident of Ewing Township for 30 years prior to moving to Lawrenceville 11 years ago. He was a graduate of Princeton High School and attended Rider College. He was an Army veteran having served his country during World War II in the Army Air Force. Chic was employed as the manager of the Glendale Tavern in Ewing Township for 15 years before joining the Artcarved Division of Lenox China in Trenton where he retired in 1988 after 12 years of service. Son of the late Sabastian and Mary Schiavone and father of the late John T. Schiavone, he was also predeceased by 5 brothers and 3 sisters. He was married for 63 years to the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Mary Moriarity Schiavone, a union that blessed them with their 5 children. Surviving children include, Tim Schiavone of Ft. Lauderdale, Fl; Meg Silverman and her husband Matthew of Laurys Station, PA; Carol Rabinowitz and her husband Mitchell of Easton, PA; and Patty Cook and her husband Mark of Morrisville, PA; 7 grandchildren, his sister, Rose Geiser of Ewing and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 AM at the Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville with the Rev. Vincent Gartland, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Ewing Church Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 4 to 6 PM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. Memorial contributions to honor Chic may be made to the Faith Development Center at the Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Rd, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
