Raymond J. Penkola, 85, passed away Wednesday at Robert Wood Johnson University Medical Center in Hamilton. Born in Hazelton, PA., he was a resident of Lawrenceville for fifty-four years. He retired from R.C. Maxwell Co. in 1989 after thirty-two years of service as an office manager of the accounting department. Raymond was a veteran of the Army Air Force and served for three years in the North Atlantic Wing. He was a graduate of the McCann Business School in Hazelton, PA. Raymond was a member of North Trenton American Legion Post #458 and Lawrence Township Senior Citizens Club #2. He enjoyed salt water fishing and woodworking. Husband of the late Anna Kolpack Penkola for fifty years, son of the late Michael and Catherine Swantek Penkola, father of the late Raymond B. Penkola, and brother of the late Bernard, Leon, Norbert, and Frank Penkola, Clara Ryan and Anna Stefanick. He is survived by his son Charles M. Penkola of Hamilton, a brother Edward Penkola of Hamilton and a sister Rita Melnyk of Levittown, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11 AM at the Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Hamilton. Family and friends may call on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville.
