Catherine R. Wharton, 93, of Lawrenceville, died Sunday at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis Medical Center in Trenton.

Born in Trenton, she had resided in Lawrenceville for fifty years.

Mrs. Wharton was formerly employed by the State of New Jersey.

Daughter of the late Joseph J. and Jennie Marie Gorman Reither, and wife of the late Frank J. Wharton, she is survived by a son Frank J. Wharton and his wife Cheryl Schleigh and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was a member of the Church of St. Ann.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM at the Church of St. Ann in Lawrenceville.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Hamilton Township.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the State of New Jersey S.P.C.A., 1119 Livingston Avenue, New Brunswick, NJ 08901 in Catherine's memory.
