Obituary of Anthony P. Serge, Jr.

Anthony P. Serge, Jr., 80, of Lawrenceville, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025 at home.

Born in Deridder, Louisiana, he was a longtime resident of Lawrenceville.  Anthony was a Veteran of the Vietnam War, having proudly served his country with the US Army.  As a young man he was a welder, but his passion and dream was to be a pilot.  After getting his pilot’s license he worked for Linden Airport, in Linden, New Jersey.  He is a retiree of Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, where he was employed as a Pilot and Captain after 29 years of dedicated service. He thoroughly enjoyed flying and traveling all over the world and collecting treasures.  Anthony was a parishioner at The Church of St. Ann.  Some of his hobbies included skiing, boating, fishing, golfing, dancing, and spending time with family and friends. He was a loving family member and very close with his six sisters and two brothers.  He loved and cherished his wife Patty, son David and daughter Kimberly, and his beloved grandchildren.  He was the life of many parties he attended and had a great sense of humor.  He thoroughly enjoyed his Caretakers, and his dog Romeo, who kept him company and cared greatly for him in the last six years of his life.

Son of the late Anthony P. Sr. and Ruby Serge, brother of the late Valerie MacDonald and Michael Serge, father of the late David Anthony Serge, husband of the late Pertina Serge; he is survived by daughter Kimberly Serge Wilsey, grandchildren Samuel, Iggy and Ty Wilsey, brothers and Sisters, Carol Muller, Ruby Naruki and (Marcal Naruki), Mary Zimmerman, Pam Keller, Barbara Getz and (Andy Getz), Frank Serge and (Cindy Serge) and over 40 nieces, nephews, grand- nieces and grand- nephews and their significant others; and his beloved K-9 companion Romeo.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 11:00AM at The Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.  Attendees are asked to arrive to the church no later than 10:45AM.

Interment will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.

Visitation for Anthony will be held on Thursday evening from 5-7PM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
