Mark Wolverton, 64, of Narberth, PA passed away quietly on Wednesday January 8, 2025.

 

Born in Trenton, NJ he was a long time resident of the Narberth area.

 

Mark was a science journalist and author.  He wrote for various national and international publications such as Scientific American, The Atlantic and Air & Space Smithsonian.  He authored numerous books including The Depths of Space, Burning the Sky, A Life in Twilight and Splinters of Infinity.  He also worked with the NASA Ames History Project, MIT, the Franklin Institute and the NASA ISS Science Office.  He was a member of the Authors Guild, the National Association of Science Writers and the Pen & Pencil Club of Philadephia.  He enjoyed reading, playing his guitar, attending plays and concerts and science fiction movies and TV shows..  He had many friends who were a cherished part of his life.

 

Son of the late Ronald Wolverton and Dorothy Roslonski, he is survived by his sister Linda Chamberlain and her husband Glenn; nephew Timothy Chamberlain and his wife Michelle; niece Amy Fisher and her husband Colby; and cousins Andrew and Audrey Chamberlain, and CJ Fisher. 

 

Burial will be private

 

The memorial visitation will be held on February 1, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Yardley-Makefield Fire Company “Station 0” located at 105 S. Main Street, Yardley, PA 19067.   

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Yardley- Makefield Fire Company.
