Obituary of Marie Wagner
Marie (née Laielli) Wagner, 94 of Lawrenceville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2024 at home surrounded by her children.
Born in Egg Harbor City, NJ, she was a longtime resident of Lawrenceville.
Daughter of the late Gaetano and Maria “Mamie” Laielli, wife of the late Roger Wagner, Marie is survived by her children: Susan and her husband Steve Ragan; Carol Depaola; Roger and his wife Diane Wagner; Barbara and her husband Joseph Eldridge; and Kathryn and her husband Jerry Miller. Additionally, Marie is survived by her grandchildren: Christopher and his wife Janine Ragan; Kyle and his wife Susan Ragan; Ryan and his wife Lyndia Wagner; Evan Wagner; Joseph Jr. and his wife Chelsea Eldridge; Maria and her husband Michael Spanicciati; Olivia Eldridge; Jenna and her husband Joseph Roberts; Emily and her husband Michael Stehle; as well as 10 great-grandchildren.
A lover of books and a friend to all, Marie was always up for anything. Whether it was an outdoor craft show, a Phillies game with her kids, touring across the country with her husband Roger, or a simple trip for an ice cream cone, “no” was rarely her answer. She had a breadth of knowledge and experiences that made her an enjoyable and interesting conversationalist, as well as a fierce Scrabble competitor. Marie was loved universally and unconditionally by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many, many friends.
Friends will remember the warmth of her casual conversation and sitting on her patio with a snack and a drink; her children will remember the life lessons she instilled and losing to her on the tennis courts in the Poconos; and her grandchildren will remember the carefree feeling of being at “Annie’s” house, playing a game and always eating something delicious.
The personification of a life well-lived and well-loved, Marie’s memory will live eternally in the birds and the flowers, the taste of really good spaghetti sauce, every Phillies and Eagles win, and the feeling of being at home.
Funeral services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
