Obituary of Irene Capes

Irene Capes 93 of Boynton Beach FL passed away peacefully on Friday Dec 27 2024 at Delray Beach Medical Center. Delray Beach FL.

Born in Trenton NJ she was a longtime Lawrenceville resident until moving to Boynton Beach FL. She is survived by her daughter Robyn Capes of Delray Beach FL and sisters Joan Taglarino, Lottie Pierzhanowski and Delores Benson. Daughter of the late James and Lottie Capes. Irene was predeceased by her siblings Verna Grant Underwood, Floyd Capes, Kathryn Harmor, Raymond Capes, Helen Robbins, Phyllis Mesday, Edward Capes, and Joseph Capes.

Irene graduated from Hamilton High School West and worked for Johnson and Johnson as General R W Johnson’s personal assistant. She later joined the IBM Corporation in Dayton, NJ and retired after 28 years. Irene loved spectator sports especially the NY Yankees. She also loved animals, spending the day pool side with friends, the stock market and casinos.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 6, 2025 at 11:30AM at The Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.

Entombment will be held in Ewing Church Cemetery, Ewing Twp.

The visitation for Irene will be held on Monday morning from 10:30-11:30AM at the daily chapel at the church.
