Obituary of Jean B. Budny

Jean Budny, 78, of Lawrenceville, NJ passed away unexpectedly on Saturday September 14, 2024. Born in Trenton, NJ to Edna and Frederick Neff, Jean was raised in Washington Crossing, PA.

Jean was a graduate of Council Rock High School. In her early years she worked for AT&T. Upon marriage Jean went to work for her husband’s family business Budny Tires in Lawrenceville. After, she became a realtor working for Weichert Realty for over 35 years. She proved to be very successful in real estate through her devotion to her customers and the desire to go above and beyond to help them find their perfect home.

One of Jean’s deepest loves was her connection with animals and wildlife. She always gravitated towards them wherever she was. She had many pets over her lifetime that were loved and cared for like family. Jean channeled that love into donating time, weekly, helping at Easel Animal Rescue in Ewing, NJ.

While many people knew her as Jean, a special group knew her as Woobie. A name first chosen for her when she became a grandmother 30 years ago. That name went on to become her title among family and friends. She was Woobie to many that met her and grew to love her. Jean was a great story teller, the life of the party, and someone who made everyone laugh. Her love of family and caring generous spirit was apparent to all who knew her.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband Joe Budny. She leaves behind her partner of 33 years Frank Higgins, her children Kelly (Cris) Kolbjornsen, Vincent (Alison) Budny, and her grandchildren Macy (Keith) Dimmick, Liam, Melanie and Mikaela. Jean is also survived by her sisters, Joyce Deems and Joan Curry, her best friend Diane O’Donnell, as well as special friends who became family over her lifetime. She truly was a special person who will be missed by so many who loved her.

Funeral services will be held on Friday September 20, 2024 at 11:15 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Director’s located at 650 Lawrence Road. Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.

The visitation for Jean will be held on Thursday September 19, 2024 from 4:30-7:30 PM and again on Friday September 20, 2024 from 9:30- 11:15 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Easel Animal Rescue in Ewing, NJ. A place near and dear to Jean’s heart.
