Obituary of Carol A. Peterson

Carol A. Peterson, RN, 77, of Mercerville passed away on Saturday September 7, 2024 at Capital Health Medical Center, Hopewell.

Born in Trenton, NJ, she was a longtime resident of Mercerville.  Carol graduated from St. Agnes School of Nursing in Philadelphia, obtained her nursing license and started working at St. Francis Medical Center. She retired from Lawrenceville OBGYN after 24 years of dedicated service.  She was a parishioner at Our Lady of Sorrows Church for many years.  Some of her hobbies included traveling extensively throughout the United States with her family, also visited many countries in Europe including Poland where she visited family.  Her main hobby was singing.  In her early years, she studied voice for 8 years under Virginia Buchalis. Carol sang in St. Hedwig Church choir, having several solos, various Notre Dame High School plays, and the Mercer County Chorus, also having several solos.

Daughter of the late John and Anna Proniewski; she is survived by her husband Robert Peterson; her daughter and son-in-law Nicole L. Bunin and her husband Royal; her beloved grandchildren Garrett Michael and Natasha Rose Bunin; her aunt Jean Kocubinski; four nieces, several cousins and many special friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 13, 2024 at 11:00AM at The Parish of Our Lady of Sorrows 3816 East State Street Ext., Mercerville, NJ08619.

Interment will be held at St. Hedwig Cemetery, Ewing Twp.

The visitation for Carol will be held on Thursday evening from 5-8PM and again on Friday morning from 9-10AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
