Uncle Bob, the Character
When I think of Uncle Bob one word comes to mind, character. Not in the sense that he was a character (which he was, think Ozzie Nelson) but in the sense of his character. He was always an upstanding character ready to duel, joke with, chide with anybody who wanted to challenge him. He knew that when he came to Gloucester he was going to be “razed” by the Gorman clan and yet he always took it in stride, joking right along with you because he knew you were the one who was full of "it". Although you knew you were going to get a good back-&-forth with Uncle Bob, he always won and he would let you down easy. The only ones who ever really feared him were the ducks.
Uncle Bob was the perfect gentleman. He loved my Aunt Miriam deeply, entirely devoted to his children and their children. Always showed his manners. Dressed in a perfectly clean and ironed, white shirt with a classy bowtie. He would help you with anything especially if it consisted of building something with your hands. But, it had to be done his way. He would tell you how to do it from start to finish. His service in the Marines was a perfect fit for him. It demanded from him the strong-willed person he was and it left an impressive impact on his future life.
Uncle Bob was faithful to his family. He was faithful to his church. He was faithful to his community of friends. He was Semper Fi.

Robert Curtis Family:
The Sikorski Family want to say how sorry we are for your loss. Having known Bob since 2011 as a member of the Knights of Columbus 7000 we could see how caring and dedicated Bob was to helping others during this life.
One gesture I will never forget about Bob was when my wife Susan fall and hurt her shoulder he would always ask about Susan when I saw him. I am sure Susan is greeting and thanking him in Heaven.
I also had the honor of being a Grand Knight of Council 7000 and working with Bob and saw how dedicated Bob was for our council as the Financial Secretary for many years. You knew Bob was going to file and send all the paperwork to the Knights without question. The council has loss a dedicated member that was loved and care for all he did for others.
Rest in Peace Bob.

The news of Robert's passing deeply grieves me. Having known him from Saint Ann's church, his remarkable wisdom and warm friendship wove a lasting impression on my mother, Aunt Dorothy, and myself. His thoughtful presence as an ushering gentleman was always appreciated at the Sunday masses. Bob was a man of profound intellect and faith, who lived life interestingly yet remained enthusiastic about kindness. Ultimately, it is unbearable thinking of the loss the Curtis family must bear – as he will indeed be woefully missed.

Dear Curtis Family,
When Bob left this area for Florida I gave him a book an autograph book given to me by William J Bennett, Drug Czar and
Education Secretary, To read in his new home in Florida. Now he's gone to financial secretary of Council 7000, Truly has given
his last report and like all the other reports he gave on Thursday nights twice a month for odd number of days no report. To be a
Knight means to be one of Honor Virtue Charity, Bob instilled everyone with that by his tireless work that's why I gave him the
book to read about another American who served under Reagan and Bush. Now he is gone my book carries on I wonder how far
he got reading it it was pretty big that is why I kept the picture of the autograph and a copy of the cover so I could remember it like
he did while he had it. He was a loyal Knight he did many charitable works participated in many degrees and I knew him not only
for 21 years as a Knight of Columbus a Sir Knight of Columbus, But no one told me he passed especially in the church I had
called home for 63 years I guess it's not my home any more. I hope you didn't suffer he is reunited with his Mariam, And his
daughter the soldier and all those who went before him and Council 7000 like Ed McKeever Pat Adesso Pat DeAngelo and Larry
Arcioni. He was a faithful Usher at the 11:00 o'clock mass that my late parents went to for close to 70 years not only in St Ann's in
the chapel in the school the new church the old church how people forget I do not. Rest well Bob, you job is done you are home.
