Ethel J. Tykarsky Obituary

Ethel J. Tykarsky, 94 of Lawrenceville, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Capital Health Regional Medical Center, Trenton.


Born in Trenton, NJ, she was a longtime resident of Lawrenceville. Ethel was a graduate of Cathedral High School for Girls, Class of 1946, and was a member of their Sodality Club. She is a retiree of American Standard, where she was an executive secretary for 40+ years. Ethel was a longtime parishioner at St. Hedwig Church. She served as Past President of the Altar Rosary Society and held other various positions. Ethel enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, trips to the Poconos, gift giving at Christmas, decorating for all the holidays throughout the year, but her most precious times were spent with her family.


Daughter of the late John and Julia Zajac and wife of the late Thaddeus A. Tykarsky, Jr. Sister of the late Rosalie Blicharz, brother-in-law Edward Blicharz, and nephew Robert Blicharz. She is survived by her sister Sally L. Zajac, brother and sister-in-law Ronald and Marion Zajac, daughter and son-in-law Diane M. and Eric Cruz, her son and daughter-in-law Thaddeus A. III and Lisa Tykarsky, Lisa’s brothers Vincent and Gary Restuccia, granddaughter Kayleigh M. Cruz, grandson Thaddeus A. Tykarsky IV, nieces Amy Karen Harter (Andrew) and Deborah Zajac (Robert), and many other cousins, nieces, and nephews.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 11:00AM at St. Hedwig Catholic Church, 872 Brunswick Avenue, Trenton, NJ 08648.


Interment will be held at St. Hedwig Cemetery, Ewing Twp.


The viewing for Ethel will be held on Friday morning from 9-10:30AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Hedwig Church, 872 Brunswick Avenue, Trenton, NJ 08638.
