Bruce F. Hutchinson Obituary

Bruce Hutchinson, a lifelong resident of Hamilton Township passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at home.


He attended St. Anthony’s grammar and high schools graduating in 1966. He enlisted in the United States Coast Guard shortly after graduation, attending advanced electronic and radio training in New London, CT and then assigned to USCG Loran Station, Kauai, and also served in the USCG honor guard.


Bruce retired from a long career at R.C. Maxwell Company and spent his retirement years working at Ready Aim Fire Range. Bruce’s passion for military history, historic battles and firearms was evident in his decades long participation in various reenactments. Bruce also owned a fully restored Willys Jeep and participated in numerous events with Jersey Central Military Motor Pool.


Son of the late Frank P. "Bud" Hutchinson, Jr. and Frances Breen Hutchinson, he is survived by his brother, Thomas and sister-in-law MaryAnn Hutchinson; sister, Maureen Hutchinson Turak; niece, Jennifer Hutchinson Taras; great nephew Jared, great niece Jenna, and numerous cousins.


Per Bruce’s wishes, his services are being held privately and at the convenience of the family.


Rest in Peace, Bruce – you will always be fondly remembered and dearly loved.
