Margaret V. Clayton, 102, of Lawrenceville died peacefully on Monday at Carnegie Assisted Living in Princeton. Born in Ocean City, NJ Margaret was a resident of Lawrenceville for most of her life. An original “Rosie the Riveter,” she was employed at a Pennsylvania based ammunition factory during World War II. She was employed as a press operator with General Motors, Inland Fisher Guide of Ewing and retired after many years of dedicated service. She was a member of the United Auto Workers, Rosedale Homemakers, T.A.S.K. and also belonged to a local book club. Daughter of the late Donald and Dorothy Welch Courtwright wife of the late Vernard W. Clayton, grandmother of the late Clay Carter, she is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Clayton Carter and Nancy A. Clayton (late husband Glyn Tindall); her son, Mark A. Clayton, three grandchildren, Christina Ordner and husband Robert, Benjamin Clayton, Rebecca Clayton and fiancé Adam Errickson; three great-grandchildren, Cole Fisher, Brooke Fisher and Ella Ordner and her sister Anita C. Welch. Funeral services for Margaret will be held on Tuesday September 12, 2023 at 11AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday from 9AM until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Lawrenceville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Association for Frontal Temporal Degeneration at www.theaftd.org
