Jennie B. Maruca, 94, passed away on Tuesday August 15, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Bristol, PA she was a long time resident of Ewing Township. In her early years, Jennie was employed by the 3M Company and Heinemann Electric Company. Later in life, she and her husband, Joseph, were owner/operators of Maruca’s Pizza and Restaurant in Hamilton, NJ. Following retirement from their business, Jennie worked as a food server for the Ewing Township Board of Education and the St. Ann’s Hot Lunch Program. Jennie was an undeniably proud mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend. For many years, she faithfully attended the St. Jude Novena at St. Michael’s Church and was a Eucharistic Minister at St. James Church. Jennie was also a member of the St. James Senior Citizen’s Club and the Rosary Altar Society. Jennie served as the sunshine/social secretary for Ewing Township Club D, as well as the St. Calogero and St. Joseph Societies. Jennie loved cooking for her family and friends. Her homemade pizza was loved by all. She also enjoyed traveling, outings with friends, casino trips, shopping and playing 500 rummy. Daughter of the late Natale Balestrieri and Filomena Gilardi. she is predeceased by her husband, Joseph R. Maruca, her sister, Eva Migliori, her brothers, Fr. Edward and Vincent (Jimmy) Balestrieri , and her grandson, Matthew Cole Stewart. She is survived by her children and their spouses, her son, Joseph (Mary Joan) Maruca, her daughter, Denise (Joseph Cotignola) Maruca, her daughter, Debra (Steve) Stewart and her daughter, Cynthia (Lee Merritt) Maruca, along with her grandchildren, Robert (Jennifer) Chojnacki, Stephen Stewart, Jason (Sarah) Stewart, Joseph (Ashlee) Maruca, Nicholas Maruca, Tyler Stewart, Ashleigh (Preston Roach) Stewart, Lara Brocklehurst, Kayla Brocklehurst, Chaice Brocklehurst, Jarrod Brocklehurst and Gabrielle Brocklehurst and her great grandchildren, Cole and Max Chojnacki, Sophia, Mason and Ryker Stewart and Sebastian Stewart-Roach, as well as, her special sister-in-law, Lucia (Blondie) Maruca and her loving godson, Frankie Sorrentino and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday August 22nd at 10:30 AM at St. James Church located at 29 East Paul Avenue, Trenton, NJ 08638 Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hamilton, NJ following. Visitation for Jennie will be held on Monday August 21st from 6-8 PM and again on Tuesday August 22nd from 9-10 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Jeremy Fund, P.O.B. 2855, Trenton, NJ 08690 or to a charity of your choice.
