Rosemarie Cermele Furtick, 84, of Lawrenceville, passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at Serenity Hospice at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Trenton, NJ, she was a longtime resident of Lawrenceville, before moving to Hamilton. Rosemarie was a breast cancer survivor and courageously battled Alzheimer’s Disease and never lost her sense of humor. She was a longtime parishioner at The Church of St. Ann. Her favorite jobs were being a Horticultural Asst. at Bristol Myers Squibb and a dedicated homemaker and caregiver. Rosemarie enjoyed Christmas, Engelbert Humperdinck music, and an avid New York Mets fan. Some of her hobbies included doing crossword and word search puzzles, and spending time with family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Daughter of the late Andrew, Sr. and Emily Cermele, sister of the late Lois Beaston and Donald Cermele, wife of the late Jesse Furtick, sister-in-law of the late Betty Rooney and Peggy Bird; she is survived by son Jay Furtick (Lisa Yohalem), two daughters Laura (Gary) Driggers, and Karen Reed, her five grandchildren Andrew (Kim) Furtick, Sarah (Barry) Keanini, Rachel Driggers, Natalie and Claire Furtick; 3 great-grandchildren Gianna and Madison Furtick and Colton Keanini; two brothers and one sister Joe Cermele, Andrew Cermele, Jr. and Marguerite Hoffman; brother-in-law Roger Bird; many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 9AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
Interment will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton.
The viewing for Rosemarie will be held on Friday evening from 5-8PM at the funeral home.
