Obituary of John L. Smith, III

John L. “Jack” Smith, III, 69, of Easton, PA passed away peacefully on Monday March 27, 2023 at St. Luke’s University Hospital, Bethlehem, PA surrounded by his loving family. Born in Kingston, PA Jack was a resident of Holland, Pa for many years prior to moving to Easton last year. He retired in 2022 after more than 20 dedicated years as Vice President of Sales for Harbortown Industries, Inc of Lake Forest, IL. He began his career in sales with the J.C. Penny Company, where he served as store manager for several different locations. He also operated his own clothing store JL Smyth Outfitters prior to joining Harbortown. Jack especially enjoyed spending time with his family at their summer home at the Jersey Shore but his favorite place was his home along the Lackawaxen river in the mountains of Pennsylvania where he loved to relax and fly fish. Son of the late John “Jack” and Jessie “B” Smith, he is survived by his loving wife Theresa, his daughters, Erin Smith and fiancé Grant Falatovich and Jessica Smith and her husband Tim; his sister Debra Unger and her husband Barry; his step-children Carla Samoyan and husband Greg and Gregory Kummer; his step-grandchildren Lily, Gabriel and Helena Samoyan; his niece Lindsey Donovan and nephew Michael Donovan and numerous friends. In addition, he loved spending time with his two dogs, Millie and Reese and his grandpup, Ravioli. In keeping with Jack’s wishes family services and burial was private. A celebration of his life will be held April 16, 2023 from 11:30 AM until 3:00 PM at Joseph Ambler Inn, 1005 Horsham Road, North Wales, PA 19454. All are welcome.
