Donald Benhart Krause, 94, of Lawrenceville, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 6, 2023, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Trenton, NJ, he was a lifelong resident of Lawrenceville. Donald served in the United States Army and held the rank of Sergeant, serving at the Nurnberg Military Post, and was a member of the American Legion Post 414. Donald was a carpenter and a member of the UBC Local 31 in Trenton for 52 years, where he served as the recording secretary for many years.
Donald was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan and loved to watch and discuss the games with his children and son-in-laws. He loved to read, especially about natural remedies, and later in life enjoyed cooking, baking and winemaking. He was a devout Christian who faithfully attended church, read the bible and served as a Deacon for many years.
Son of the late Benhart John Krause and Helen Mary Seitz; Donald is predeceased by his loving wife Joyce and his son Kevin. Donald is survived by his sister, Dorothy Janeczek; four daughters, Penny Hatchell and her husband Tim; Robin Campbell and her husband Gary; Kim Flann and her husband Ken; and Kerry Krause; seven grandchildren, Andrew, Eric, Miranda, Casey, Jesse, Ashley and Jordan; four great-grandchildren, Caleigh, Isabella, Shawn and Charlotte. Donald will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors, and especially missed by his niece Susan Brown, her wife Linda Key, and his daughter-in-law, Deborah Gigliotti.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023 at 11:30 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors located at 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648
Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery located in Hamilton, NJ.
The viewing for Donald will be held on Friday, March 10, 2023 from 10-11:30 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
