Douglas M. Taylor, 64, of Hamilton, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Capital Health Regional Medical Center, Trenton.
Born in Trenton, he was a graduate of Steinert High School and was a lifelong Hamilton resident. Doug was employed by the State of New Jersey, Division of Support Services and retired in 2014 after 35 years of dedicated service. He is a former member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and enjoyed his weekly trip to the Columbus Farmer’s Market, spending time with family and caring for his canine companions, Shocker and Bear. He also enjoyed NASCAR, his spring training baseball trips to Florida to watch the New York Yankees, and was an avid fan of his beloved Minnesota Vikings.
Predeceased by his parents, Lloyd and Agnes Taylor, his mother and father-in-law, Marie and Carl Giehl, and his brothers, Lloyd Taylor, Jr., and Robert Taylor, he is survived by his loving wife, Eva Marie, his sister, Cindy DeLena and husband Jerry of Hamilton; his brothers and their spouses, Marty and Linda Taylor of Hamilton, Thomas and Susan Caparbi-Taylor of Spring Hill, FL, Richard and Debra Taylor of Southport, NC, and Ronald and Valerie Taylor of North Myrtle Beach, SC; his sister-in-law, Eileen Taylor of Hamilton, his brother-in-law Donald Giehl of Daytona, FL, his aunts Irene Foy of Hamilton, and Barbara King of Hamilton, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, February 24, 2023, from 10:00-11:00 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road (Route 206), Lawrenceville, New Jersey 08648. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
Per the family's request, please wear something purple to honor Doug.
