Obituary of Andrew Caine White

On Friday, February 3, Andrew Caine White, of Hamilton, NJ, beloved brother and uncle, passed away at the age of 74. Andy was born in Bronxville, NY and raised in New Rochelle, NY. After attending public schools in New Rochelle, NY he attended Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA and earned his Bachelors Degree of Science from Mercy College in Valhalla, NY. He was a veteran who served in the United States Army including a deployment to Vietnam 1970-1971. Andy worked for many years in data processing and payroll at the Nestles Company in White Plains, NY and later at Stamford Hospital in Connecticut. Andy lived most of his life in Pelham, NY where he studied art at the Pelham Arts Center. He was a prolific artist working in oils, pottery and stained glass. He loved history, playing bridge, poker and canasta, watching old movies, cooking and doing crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Family love and laughter was everything to him. His infectious laugh was his signature. A former longtime member of North Avenue Presbyterian Church, in New Rochelle, NY Andy transferred his membership to the First Presbyterian Church of Hamilton Square when he moved to Hamilton, NJ in 2019 to be closer to family. He loved his home in the Locust Hill Community in Yardville, NJ and especially enjoyed tending to his beautiful gardens. Andy was preceded in death by his parents Hugh and Sara White, his brother Hugh James White, sister Elisabeth White Chase, his nephew Hugh Alexander Chase and baby great niece Emma Rose Muñoz. He is survived by his sister Mary-Martha White Scott (brother-in-law John Scott) of Lawrenceville, NJ and a sister-in-law, Nancy Zink White of Herkimer, NY. He is also survived by nephews Robert White Scott (Lenora Warren) and Edwin T. Chase V, nieces Kate Scott Sammons, Margaret Scott Moros (Zack) and Elizabeth Scott Muñoz (Disan) as well as great nephews and nieces Lucian Warren-Scott, Calvin, Lucy and Evie Moros, Jack and George Sammons, Isabelle and Bo Muñoz, Alexandra and Cameron Chase and two cousins Douglas and Marc Caine (Wendy). Andy is survived by his dearest, lifelong friend Sharon Kelly of South Hadley, Massachusetts. A memorial service will be held Friday, February 17th at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church Hamilton Square, 3550 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. 08690. Burial will be private at Kensico Cemetery in Valhalla, NY at a later date.
