Obituary of Lorraine Colavita

Lorraine Colavita, 93, of Lawrenceville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Capital Health Medical Center, Hopewell. Born in Trenton, NJ, she resided in Lawrenceville most of her life. Lorraine was a graduate of Trenton High School Class of 1947 and worked many years at the New Jersey Department of Education, where she was employed until her retirement in 1986. She was a long-time parishioner at The Church of St. Ann where she was involved in almost every aspect of parish life. Lorraine was the first female Trustee of the Church, a member of the Rosary Altar Society, served on the first parish pastoral council, served as an organist for novenas and masses, and volunteered at many church functions. She was a member of Lawrence Senior Citizen Club, having served as past President of Club 5. Lorraine enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends. Daughter of the late Frank and Stella Colavita; sister of the late Lucy DiQuinzio, Julia Ragolia, Leon Colavita, Leonard Colavita, Santa Colavita, Michael Colavita, Marion Spatty and Albert Colavita; aunt of the late Gloria Dill, Florence Colavita Wood and Kathy Woolston; she is survived by her niece Judy Niglio; her nephews Leon (Betty), Sam (Ilene), Michael (Maureen), Robert (Dory) Colavita, and Jim (Jean) DiQuinzio; her beloved caregiver Olga Chelak; and many great-nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 at 11:00AM at The Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Interment will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ. Visitation will be held on Wednesday morning from 10-11AM in the daily chapel at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to The Church of St. Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
