Mae Swanson Lee, 96, of Lawrenceville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, November 10, 2022, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Gary, WV, she was a former resident of Brooklyn, NY, before moving to Lawrenceville, NJ 57 years ago. She is a retired educator of the Trenton Board of Education, where she taught for more than 25 years. Mae earned her bachelor’s degree and Master’s Degree from Trenton State College. She was a true believer that the gift of education was an inalienable right for all persons. Daughter of the late Claude Swanson and Lottie Mae Easley Swanson. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Dr. Wendell Lee, her son and daughter-in-law Wendell and Loretta Lee; her grandchildren Tyler and Zachary. Mae is survived by Lois Coleman and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 2PM at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church 2730 Princeton Pike, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Interment will be held in the family cemetery on Monday, November 21, 2022 at Christ Temple United Holy Church in Axton, VA. The viewing for Mae will be held on Thursday afternoon from 1-2 PM at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made by check to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church 2730 Princeton Pike, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
