Obituary of David Scott Kern
Please share a memory of David to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
David Scott Kern, 54, of Delanco, passed away on September 23, 2022 at Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY.
Born in Trenton, NJ, David was a resident of Delanco, NJ. A graduate of the Pennington School and Rider University, he was employed by the State of New Jersey and served in several positions throughout his career, most recently as the Deputy Director Division of Procurement for the Department of Transportation.
David was an avid sports fan, particularly a basketball enthusiast who loved coaching and officiating local youth games. He was recently recognized by the International Association of Approved Basketball Officials (I.A.A.B.O.) for his 20 years of service as a referee for many middle and high school games in the area, and was honored this year by the Township of Delanco for his dedication and contributions to youth sports. David was a trivia buff who loved 80’s music, especially Huey Lewis and the News, and a fan of Duke Basketball, the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. But, his favorite activity was spending time with his family and friends, whether taking grand vacations or simply being together doing nothing at all.
David was a most loving and devoted husband, father and a friend to many. He is survived by his loving wife Lisa (Pasciucco) Kern and his pride and joy, son Nicholas; his mother and father-in-law, Carole and Peter Pasciucco; brothers-in-law Michael Pasciucco and Joseph Pasciucco and many close friends who were his family.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, morning at 10:00 AM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
