Irene Sadler Gibson was born June 2, 1932 in New Bedford Massachusetts to Rachel Johnson-Sadler and Leonard E. Sadler.
Irene attended Bryant College in Smithfield Rhode Island. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Management. Irene retired from the State of New Jersey Department of Labor and Industry, Office of the Comptroller after 30 years of service.
Irene is predeceased by her parents Rachel Johnson -Sadler and Leonard E. Sadler, her husband Dawson H. Gibson, a very special aunt Margaretta Johnson, her sisters Ilene DaCruz & Iris Fortes, and her bother Ivan Sadler. Irene is survived by her daughter Lisa R. Gibson Melchor (John Melchor Jr) and her son David Michael Gibson (Kim Case-Gibson); her grandchildren, John Andrew & Aaron Melchor and Christopher Gibson (Sarah Louise Harris) & Nicholas Gibson.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday May 14, 2022 from 11:00 am to 1:00 PM at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 801 W State St, Trenton, NJ 08618
Interment will be private and held at later date at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
