Please share a memory of Theresa to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
THERESA A. LUCASH, 81, of Lawrenceville died peacefully on May 4, 2022, at Morris Hall Meadows, surrounded by her family, after a short battle with cancer. Born in Trenton, Theresa was a resident of Lawrenceville most of her life. She graduated from Cathedral High School. She met the love of her life, Lawrence S. Lucash, right after high school and married in 1959. They were happily married for 53 years until his death in 2013. A deeply caring person with a strong faith, Theresa was a devoted and beloved wife and mother to five children and was very engaged in the lives of her 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of Saint Ann, where both she and her husband were very active parishioners, especially in the church choir. As a member for over 30 years, the choir was her second family. In addition to singing for mass every Sunday, the choir had beautiful concerts for holy days and in the community, even traveling to Rome in 1996 to sing for Pope John Paul II at the Vatican. Theresa was always working on a project, gardening, quilting, sewing everything from curtains to pillows to Christmas ornaments. She loved cooking and baking, and made the best apple pie, among other things. She and her husband were masters at dancing. Waltzing or doing the polka, they glided across the floor in perfect harmony. She was always ready to lend a helping hand and her joyous, loving spirit will be greatly missed by all. Wife of the late Lawrence S. Lucash, Theresa is survived by her children, Deborah Sliwinski and husband Joe, Christine Yearly and husband Vincent Jr., Martin Lucash and wife Nancy, Cynthia Warshaw and husband Stephen, and Pamela Kauppila and husband Nels; her 12 grandchildren, Hannah Warshaw, Anderson Warshaw, Lauren Kauppila, Jason Kauppila, Jenna Sliwinski, Lucas Sliwinski, Vincent Yearly III, Lexie Skepner and husband Matt, Melanie Lucash Hunnicutt and husband Jake, Meghan Alexopulos, Zack Alexopulos, and Nick Alexopulos and wife Quinn; her 3 great-grandchildren, Shayla Skepner, and Daphne and Freya Alexopulos; her sisters Lorraine Eastman and Monica Bleasius; her brother-in-law Francis Lucash and wife Norey; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Violet Davitt Marszalek as well as brothers Edward and Paul Marszalek and sister Lillian Rock. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 13, 2022 at 11:00am at the Church of Saint Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Burial will follow in St. Hedwig Cemetery, Ewing, NJ. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, May 12, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Rd, Lawrenceville NJ 08648, and again on Friday morning from 9:00am to 10:00am at the funeral home.
