Richard “Dick” Walter, 81, of Southampton, NJ died peacefully at home on Tuesday December 7, 2021 with his loving wife Kathleen and son Robert by his side. Born and raised in Trenton Dick was a resident of Southampton for the past 24 years. He was a U. S. Navy veteran having served in the Mediterranean Sea and was part of the naval blockade during the Cuban Missile Crisis in October of 1962. Dick was a retiree of Delaval Steam Turbine where he was employed as an electrician for many years. He was also a former volunteer fireman with the Mercerville Fire Company and was a member of the Buddtown United Methodist Church in Southampton. Son of the late Christian and Thelma Applegate Walter, brother of the late Thomas Walter, he is survived by his loving and devoted wife Kathleen Walter, two sons, a daughter, eight grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and two brothers and a sister-in-law, William Walter and wife Shirley and Donald Walter. Private services were held with burial in the Harbourton Cemetery. Memorial contributions to honor Dick may be made to Samaritan Hospice at www.samaritannj.org or to the charity of your choosing.
