Irene Popovich, 83, of Ewing, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, June 18, 2021, at Samaritan Inpatient Hospice, Mt. Holly, NJ. Born in Trenton, NJ, she was a long-time resident of Ewing. She was a graduate of Trenton High School, class of 1955. In 1958, Irene married her sweetheart and best friend Michael “Mick” Popovich. Irene was a former parishioner at St. Hedwig Church and a parishioner at The Church of St. Ann. In her free time Irene loved family meals and good eating, movies, reading, playing bingo and casino poker, spending time with her grandchildren, and going to all their activities, Sunday sports and the Philadelphia Eagles. Above all else she was a kind, loving and devoted wife, mother, Grandmom, aunt, sister and friend who is sorely missed. Daughter of the late Walter and Anna Andrzejewski; predeceased by her husband Michael Popovich; she is survived by her children Michael (Jeff) Popovich, Mark Popovich, Gregg (Helen) Popovich, Elizabeth (Brian) Popovich; four grandchildren Nicholas, Olivia, Lucas and Mia Popovich; two brothers Joseph and Stanley Andrzejewski; and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 8th, 2021, at 10:30am at The Church of St. Ann 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation www.parkinson.org
