Linda Anne McDermott, age 75, of Lawrenceville, passed away peacefully at home on August 14th, 2021, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born in Trenton, she was a resident of Lawrenceville, NJ. Linda was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who spent her life raising and caring for her family. She was a teacher at Yardville Heights Elementary School as well as Saint Ann’s Catholic School for many years. Mrs. McDermott loved her students, but her true joy in life was spending time and making memories with her family. Daughter of the late Gilbert P. and Veronica Burns Rossi; she is survived by her husband of 52 years, Girard D. McDermott; her children Marcie (Brian) Dean of Collegeville, PA; Jeremy (Lana) McDermott of Lawrenceville; and Lauren (Remi) Hocquaux, also of Lawrenceville. Linda is also Grammy to six grandchildren Katelyn and Meghan Dean, Tristan, Liam and Kieran Hocquaux, and Cody McDermott. In addition, Linda is survived by her brother, Gilbert (Chip) Rossi and many nephews, cousins and friends. Family and her faith meant everything to her, and she will be dearly missed. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 19, at 10:30 A.M at the Church of Saint Ann, 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Attendees are asked to arrive at the church no later than 10:15AM. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Morris Hall c/o Our Lady of Rosary Chapel, 1 Bishop’s Drive, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648.
