Obituary of Robert M. Davison, Sr.

Robert Manning Davison, Sr (Bob), 84, of Princeton, NJ, passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021 in Princeton, NJ. Bob was born in Trenton, NJ to Cyril R. and Ethel C. Davison on April 13, 1937. He went to Princeton High School and graduated in 1955 as his Senior Class President. He went on to earn a degree from University of Virginia, where he was in ROTC. After that, he was 2nd Lieutenant at Fort Lee, NJ. He started working at McGraw Hill Publishing Company in 1962 and worked his way up to be named Vice President. During this time he also attended Rutgers University where he earned his accounting degree. Bob enjoyed golf, skiing, boating, travel and spending summers at the Jersey shore with his family, where he was a member of Seaside Park Yacht Club. Bob is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann (Gray) of Princeton, NJ, his daughter and son-in-law (Michele and Andrew DeGroat), his son and daughter-in-law (Bobby Jr and Stephanie Davison), 7 grandchildren who he adored (Nathan, Megan, Abigail, Katie, Lucas, Ryan and Anna), his sister (Joan D. Taylor) and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, his sister and brother-in-law (Linda D. and John C. Martinelli), brother-in-law (Donald W. Taylor) and nephew (Donald Michael Taylor). Visitation for Bob will be held on Sunday, May 16, 2021 from 3-5:00PM at Poulson & Van Hise Funeral Directors, 650 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. A funeral service will follow at 5:00PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Samaritan Life-Enhancing Care (https://samaritannj.org), Fox Chase Cancer Center (https://www.foxchase.org), or a donation of your choosing.
