Eugene Walter (Gene) Chrzanowski, 77, of Hamilton, NJ and formerly of Doylestown, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 2 at RWJU Hospital at Hamilton.
Gene was born in Pittsburgh, PA to Genevieve and V. Walter Chrzanowski on January 27, 1943. He received a B.A. from St. Vincent College in Latrobe, PA, served in the US Air Force, and later earned his M.A. from the University of Pittsburgh.
Gene was a Russian translator in Pittsburgh, a construction worker on Long Beach Island, and then moved to Doylestown, PA where he was employed by Reed Technology in Horsham, PA for many years.
An avid bike rider Gene biked his way around Bucks County and Long Beach Island and ran the LBI 18 mile race. He enjoyed gardening and possessed truly unique woodworking talents. But his true passion was choral music, as he performed in his high school band, college choir and finally as a member of the Bucks County Choral Society for over 25 years. Nothing gave him greater joy.
Predeceased by his parents, his sister Dolores Szafranski, her husband Casey and their son Ken Szafranski, he is survived by his loving sister Sonia Kraemer and her husband Ron; nephews Ron Kraemer, Jr., Rick Kraemer and wife Carole, Kevin Szafranski and wife Patty, several grand-nieces and grand-nephews and his dear friend Alison Temple.
Private family services and burial will be held with military honors in the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
