Obituary of Margaret C. Kreger

Please share a memory of Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
MARGARET C. KREGER, affectionately known as Cam, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2020 with family by her side. Born in 1923 to Frederick and Helen Cammerzell, Cam graduated from Trenton High School and Douglass College before meeting and marrying her husband, Carl R. Kreger, and raising their family in Lawrence Township. Cam and Carl were active in township affairs, with Cam serving on the Lawrence Arts Council, the Garden Gate Garden Club, Princeton Medical Center volunteer, Docent at the New Jersey State House and several other civic organizations. Cam taught remedial reading at Ben Franklin School and gave private piano lessons for many years. Cam worshipped at both the Lawrence Road Presbyterian Church and the Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church and sang in both choirs. Always eager to socialize and keep busy, Cam and Carl entertained often and, after his death, Cam never passed up an opportunity to host or enjoy lunch, dinner and drives through the country with friends, to engage with her several bridge groups, book clubs, and to host or enjoy cocktail hours, potluck dinners and dessert parties with friends. Most precious to her was her family, all of whom she loved fiercely. She enjoyed each opportunity to celebrate family weddings and events, and attend her grandchildren’s dance recitals, sports events, drama and musical performances, graduations, and school assemblies. Cam treasured the annual tradition of making Christmas cookies with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a noisy and messy event where, on occasion, a few of the decorations actually made it onto the cookies. Predeceased by her parents, her husband, Carl, son-in-law, Peter L. Sheeran, and her brother, Frederick Cammerzell, Cam is survived by her children, Carl R. Kreger, Jr. (Juanita), Donna H. Sheeran (Todd), and Patrick F. Kreger (Betsy); her grandchildren Meghan Kreger Poller (Michael), Carl R. Kreger, III (Marsha), Peter L. Sheeran, Jr. (Susan), Daniel P. Sheeran (Jessica), Erin Kreger Schupp (Alex), Matthew P. Kreger and Ryan J. Kreger; and her great great-grandchildren, Samuel and Joseph Poller, Hayes and Tate Sheeran, Audrey and Cora Margaret Schupp, and Patrick, Hudson, Tanner and Brynn Sheeran. Funeral services will be private for the family due to COVID restrictions, and a memorial service will be planned for the future. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
