Obituary of Kent Paul Hastings

Kent P. Hastings, 85 of Lawrenceville passed quietly away on Monday August 24 at home with his family and loving yorkie Lily near his side. Kent was born in Woodstock, NY and was raised and attended school in Kingston, NY. After graduating Rider University he began his long career as a shoe representative in New York City. He eventually was promoted and represented eleven shoe manufacturers in the Boston area. He was then offered a managerial position for a Cuban sneaker manufacturer in Miami, Florida. Kent traveled the world as a shoe representative from Florence, Italy to the mountains of China collecting artifacts along the way. He eventually formed his own shoe importing company with a partner from Romania, a company he operated until his retirement. Kent was known as a funny and witty man who had so many interests. A favorite pastime while in Bath, England was to rise up early in the morning to search out that extra special collectable. Son of the late Joseph and Dorothy Hastings, Kent is survived by his wife JoAnne “Jody” Tramontana Hastings, his 3 sons and their families; Michael Hastings and his wife Jennifer and their children, Emma, Anne, Jack and Sam; Christian Hastings and his wife Diana and their children Katheryn and Patrick and Frederick and his wife Amy and their children Owen and Wyall; also surviving are many cousins in Lawrenceville, New York City and Kingston, NY. Due to the gathering restrictions a private family service will be held with burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hamilton. Sláinte
