Obituary of Michael "The Barber" Varone

Michael “The Barber” Varone, 83, of Lawrenceville, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Calimera, Italy, he was a longtime resident of Lawrenceville. Mike owned and operated Mike’s Barber Shop on Princeton Avenue in Lawrence Twp. for over 50 years. He was a longtime parishioner at The Church of St. Ann. Mike was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend to many who will be dearly missed. Some of his hobbies included trips to the casino, going to car shows and watching wrestling matches. Predeceased by his parents Francesco and Anna Paglianiti Varone, his brothers and sisters-in-law Joseph and Catherine Varone, Gregorio and Rose Varone, and Domenico Varone and his sister Katarina Varone; he is survived by his wife Frances Varone nee Mazzuca; his children and their spouses Michael Varone, Jr., Mario and Laurie Varone, and John and Colleen Varone; his beloved grandchildren Taylor, Jordyn, Guiliana, Nicholas, Olivia and John Varone Jr; Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Giuseppe and Josephine Amendola, Anthony and Gilda Genovesi and several nieces and nephews. Due to recent events and gathering restrictions, funeral services and entombment will be held privately.
