Obituary of George Joseph Sikora

George Joseph Sikora, 89, of Nashville, TN and formerly of Lawrenceville, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2020. Born in Bethlehem, PA, he was a former resident of Parsippany, NJ and Lawrenceville, before moving to Nashville, TN. George was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict, having proudly served his country with the US Navy as the CIC Officer of USS William R. Rush (DDR 714) earning a National Defense Service Ribbon and Occupation Service Medal (European Clasp). Prior to the US Navy, George served also in the US Air Force. He is a retiree of the State of NJ, where he was employed as Chief, Judicial Management Information Systems, Administrative Office of the Courts. George was a former Parishioner at The Church of St. Ann and a member of the Lawrence Council No. 7000 Knights of Columbus. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Mary Sikora, his wife Marilyn Sikora; he is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Anne Sikora of Nashville, TN, his son and daughter-in-law Michael George and Maureen Sikora of Lawrenceville, NJ; his grandchildren Jillian Starkey of San Diego, CA, Michael Paul Sikora, Steven Sikora, & Christina Sikora, all of Lawrenceville, NJ A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 10:00AM at The Church of St. Ann 1253 Lawrence Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648. Funeral attendees are asked to arrive directly to the church no later then 9:45AM. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Hamilton, NJ. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations can be made to the National Park Foundation toward the preservation of the Korean War Memorial Park in Washington, D.C. in tribute to George Joseph Sikora’s Service.
