Obituary of Patricia A. Metzger

With great sadness we announce the passing of Patricia, loving and devoted mother, friend to all whose lives she touched on December 31, 2019. She left us peacefully at Greenwood House in Ewing, NJ with family at her side following a brief illness. Patricia A. {Hoey} Metzger beloved wife of the late William J. Metzger much loved mother of Bill Metzger (Nancy), Barbara Hauter (Bruce), and James Metzger. Cherished grandmother of Chris (Rikiesha) Caitlin, Erik, Tara, Justin and Shea. Great grandmother to Zion and Jordan. Dear sister of Rosemary Duke, the late Edward Hoey, Agnes Marlowe, and Florence Aurich. Remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Edward and Florence Hoey. All whom loved her dearly will never forget her tenacity, charm and grace (when pertinent). She was an avid supporter of military veterans causes, American Indian welfare, animal injustices, seeing eye dogs and QVC. Born in Union City, NJ, she was a longtime resident of Lawrenceville. Patricia was the Administrative Secretary to the Superintendent of Lawrence Twp. Public Schools, and longtime parishioner at The Church of St. Ann in Lawrenceville. Services are planned in the Spring when Patricia will be laid to rest with her husband at the Brigadier General Wm C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, 350 Provinceline Road, North Hanover Twp., NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to St. Peter’s Prep School, 144 Grand Street, Jersey City, NJ 07302.
