Obituary of Dorothy E. Nabinger
Dorothy E. (Matelena) Nabinger, 94, of Lawrenceville, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 21, 2019 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Trenton, NJ, she was a resident of Lawrenceville for 66 years. Dorothy graduated St. Francis Nursing School in 1945 and was subsequently employed as an RN with St. Francis Medical Center for many years. Dorothy was later employed by the Lawrence Intermediate School. Dorothy’s hobbies included playing the piano, crocheting, reading, and cooking. Dorothy was a recipient of the Artillery Order of Molly Pitcher for her services in support of the112th U.S. Field Artillery Association. Dorothy considered everyone before herself, and her gracious civility and sharp wit will be cherished by her loving family forever. Her selflessness, stability and courageous perseverance inspired family and friends alike. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed.
Wife of 66 years of the late John Nabinger, she was predeceased by her parents Albert and Dorothy R. (Southard) Matelena; sisters Alberta Smith and Marie Nabinger; brothers in law William, Robert, and Richard Nabinger, and Edward Wyrwas; and cousin Marion (Naples) Major. She is survived by her loving sons and their wives Jeffrey and Zhanna Nabinger and Stacy Leigh and Janet Nabinger; four grandchildren Stacy John (Jill), John, Jacqueline Elizabeth and Jenevieve Elizabeth; her great-grandchildren Johanna Mabel and Walter Stacy; three sisters-in-law Claire Wyrwas, Joy Fitzgeorge and Geraldine Nabinger; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held privately and at the convenience of the family.
